The history!
Sam is quite young when he gained interest in scooters. At the age of 17, he buys his first Vespa in 1993. He immediately gets himself another one to fiddle about with. At that time his workshop consists of a 10m² shed in his mother’s back garden.
Course over the years
What began as a teenage passion for scooters grew into a lifelong career dedicated to Vespa and Lambretta. From his first small restorations in the 1990s to building an international business, Sam’s story is one of dedication, craftsmanship, and love for Italian scooters. Below you’ll find the key milestones that shaped his journey and the history of LambrettaFinder.
Sam buys his first Lambretta in 1994 and restores it in 1995, while also doing maintenance for other scooter riders.
He starts collecting scooters, financing his passion through restorations, buying, selling, and servicing.
Moves into a larger 100m² garage and builds a growing collection of rare 1960s Lambrettas, Vespa scooters, and original accessories.
His Vespa GS MK1 is featured in Scootering magazine.
Quits his job to turn his passion into a profession: LambrettaFinder is founded. Sam begins traveling to Italy regularly for Vespa and Lambretta scooters.
Purchases a warehouse on the main road of Rumst, just 2 km from his home.
Organizes the new 500m² warehouse, with space for restorations, storage of parts, an office, and a stock of 50–70 Italian scooters for sale. Continues traveling to Italy every 6 weeks.
Opens a new 230m² showroom at Molenbergstraat 94 in Rumst, near the warehouse.
Focuses on worldwide import and export, managing the office from the warehouse while continuing restorations himself.
Spends a decade traveling across Europe for import and export, expanding his network and expertise.
Brexit complicates trade with the UK, pushing Sam to explore new challenges.
Maintains worldwide contacts, restores scooters, and continues to grow LambrettaFinder’s international reputation.
